Company Profile
Mercy Regional Health Center
Company Overview
Mercy Regional Health Center, part of Via Christi Health was built to serve the local community. An acute care facility licensed to operate 150 beds in two facilities, this private, not-for-profit organization was created in 1996 by combining The Saint Mary Hospital and Memorial Hospital. The primary mission of Mercy Regional is to promote community health by providing quality, compassionate healthcare services that embrace our values of quality, human dignity and community. In other words, our purpose is caring for — and about — our patients.
Via Christi Health's rich history of serving the people of Kansas and the surrounding region dates back more than 100 years to the healing ministries of our founding congregations. Today, Via Christi Health is the largest provider of health care services in Kansas. We serve Kansas and northeast Oklahoma through our doctors, hospitals, senior villages and health services.
In fiscal year 2010, Via Christi Health provided $82.8 million in benefit to the communities we serve. This includes $48.5 million in charity care and $17.1 million in unpaid costs of Medicaid services provided. Via Christi Health employs more than 10,000 people.
Our Mission
Inspired by the Gospel and our Catholic tradition, we serve as a healing presence with special concern for our neighbors who are vulnerable.
